Where every recipe in the game comes from
The four ways recipes arrive, with the request board and museum providing many of the unlocks.
The short answer
Recipes arrive from four places: request-board errands that reward a recipe scroll, museum set completions that grant a crafting scroll, Tali and Stillwell’s score-based challenges, and story quests. The request board alone teaches dozens of cooking recipes, one per errand that asks for the dish’s key ingredient.

Recipes usually come from rewards because no shop sells the complete list. The cooking page shows every dish with its recipe and skill level, while the recipe browser also marks whether it is known from the start.
Request-board recipes
The request board is the most reliable source. Many fetch errands reward a recipe scroll for a dish based on the delivered item. Bring Josephine a baked potato to learn loaded baked potato, or bring berries to learn berry jam. The request board guide covers the daily schedule.
Prioritize errands you have not seen before. Each new one may award a recipe you do not own, and the board draws from the full pool over time.
Museum rewards teach furniture
Completing a museum set often awards a crafting scroll. Furniture-tier rewards pair the item with its recipe, permanently unlocking it when the set is finished (museum guide). This is the main source for decorative furniture and apiary or terrarium crafts.
Challenges: the score-gated recipes
Tali’s cooking challenges and Stillwell’s monster-hunting challenges reward recipes based on your score band. They are the only source of some high-end dishes, and because they run on schedules, checking for an active challenge is worth adding to the routine (request board guide).
Story quests and the rest
Story quests give specific recipes and scrolls as one-time rewards. The mill, refinery and endgame crafts arrive this way, often alongside the building that uses them. The farming rules and mines guide note where these crafting unlocks appear in the story.
Using the recipe lists
The recipe browser on the cooking page lists every dish, its recipe, skill level and whether it is known from the start. This separates starter recipes from later unlocks. For crafts and furniture, the item database tags each recipe’s source.
